Shekhar Hari Kumar is a Macro Strategist at Exante Data, and has worked in macro-finance research for 10 years. His research primarily focuses on the international trilemma, studying the interaction between capital flows and exchange rate / monetary policy in emerging markets. His secondary research interests include financial econometrics and changepoint analysis.

Shekhar has previously worked as a consultant at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi where he researched issues regarding international capital flows, exchange rate regimes, and monetary policy. He holds a PhD in International Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors, and received his Master’s degree in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras. While at the Geneva Graduate Institute, Shekhar conducted research on automated interpretations of political and economic policy documents using machine learning.
