Exante Data Welcomes Tony Volpon to Advisory Board

January 7, 2025 – New York, NY – Exante Data is pleased to announce that Tony Volpon, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, has joined the firm’s Advisory Board. Tony brings extensive experience and expertise in global macroeconomic research, with a particular focus on Brazil. His addition to the Advisory Board comes at a pivotal time for Brazil’s economy and politics.

Jens Nordvig, Founder and CEO of Exante Data, expressed his excitement about Tony’s appointment:

“I am happy and also honored that Tony Volpon has agreed to join Exante Data’s Advisory Board. We look forward to drawing on his expert advice and guidance on Brazil. Tony has invaluable experience from his role as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, and I personally had the pleasure of working closely with Tony prior to that, when I managed the research department at Nomura Securities, and Tony was in charge of Latam research.

The entire Exante Data team, as well as our client base, has a lot to learn from Tony; and I am personally very excited about the timing of this cooperation. We are embarking on dramatic regime shifts in macro markets globally, with debt dynamics increasingly becoming a dominating force—not just in Brazil. Hence, the focus will be moving away from global cyclical dynamics, toward more idiosyncratic local mechanics.

At Exante Data, we are evolving our data infrastructure to adapt to this structural shift and stay ahead of key market trends, and we look forward to Tony’s technical inputs in this regard also.”

Building on Jens’ remarks, Tony shared his perspective on the opportunities ahead:

Super happy in joining the best macro research house led by Jens Nordvig + team. Brazil is at a crucial juncture economically and politically, and we will work closely with Exante Data clients globally to navigate the risks and opportunities in this new year.”

Tony Volpon’s appointment to the Advisory Board represents a key development for Exante Data as we continue to enhance our capabilities in global macroeconomic research, particularly in relation to Brazil. His vast experience and insights will be invaluable to our clients as we navigate the evolving economic landscape. Together, we look forward to a year of growth, collaboration, and success, helping our clients thrive in a rapidly changing world.
