July 2025 Newsletter: The AI Revolution is Accelerating

Launching Exante Data’s AI Search Tool (Jens Nordvig)

OpenAI launched ChatGPT in October 2022 and achieved 100 million users by early 2023, just a few months after their launch. This was the catalyst for many enterprises to start thinking about how to embed AI in their business.

At Exante Data, the AI revolution has both been relevant for our macro analysis and for our business planning. At the macro level, we have been using Nvidia’s growth trajectory to project the broader CAPEX impact of AI specific investment for more than two years now.

At the business level, we have recently added an AI Search element to our user interface on the Exante Data platform, allowing clients to quickly surface content across various underlying content streams, and zooming in on the content that is most timely and most relevant. It has been welcomed by our audience of international Portfolio Managers, and we will continue to invest in this new element of our front-end (see also more color on AI adoption here)

Below, we highlight certain recent contributions from Exante Data to the public debate, including media appearances and content from our Substack. In terms of our analytical focus, we continue to receive a steady stream of questions about USD asset allocation and we are evolving our FlowPro and other proprietary data in this space to address those specific questions. As such, our ‘USD Allocation’ page on our platform has become one of the most popular dimensions of our site.

“We’ve Reached A Tipping Point” : CNBC

Our CEO, Jens Nordvig, recently appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box Asia to share his perspective on shifting market dynamics. In the segment, Jens explained why rising long-end yields may no longer provide support for the U.S. dollar — a development that could signal a broader market tipping point. He also addressed the growing uncertainty around U.S. fiscal policy and discussed why tax cuts for high-income groups are likely to have a limited impact on economic growth.

Martin Rasmussen on Hidden Gold Demand

Our Hong Kong based Senior Strategist, Martin Rasmussen, was featured in a recent Bloomberg article examining the drivers behind the record-breaking rally in the gold market — particularly the mystery surrounding China’s unaccounted-for demand. Drawing on extensive research, Martin highlighted the disconnect between reported gold flows and actual market behavior, suggesting that central banks and sovereign wealth funds may be playing a larger, less transparent role than official data reveals.

“The puzzle is that these large inflows are not being reflected in China’s official trade statistics,” Martin told Bloomberg. “It raises questions about how much buying is happening through channels we can’t easily track.”

Substack Highlight: German Fiscal Policy on the Move

Our London-based Chief Economic Advisor, Chris Marsh, explores a major macro turning point in Europe — the reversal of Germany’s decades-long fiscal restraint. His latest Substack piece breaks down the 2025 budget, soaring defense and infrastructure spending, and what it all means for the euro and bond markets.

“Geopolitical realities have shifted the narrative. At long last.”
