Exante Data Advisor Tor Vollaløkken was interviewed by Dagens Næringsliv on April 23, 2024 to discuss the strength of the dollar.

Tor attributes the Norwegian krone’s 7.5 percent depreciation against the dollar, reaching NOK 11 per dollar, primarily to the increase in US interest rates. Specifically, the interest rate on ten-year US government securities has risen by 0.7 percentage points to 4.6 percent this year, while the Norwegian equivalent has increased by 0.6 percent, reaching 3.8 percent.
